Our old buddy got himself a pretty cool job. I actually ran into zempf tonight, saw him play a set on the sax with his eight-piece soul band.

It’s true! I haven’t been around much at all, was too busy getting married last year to be able to comment but I am still reading everything. But yes, I have somehow fallen into the computer/sports geek’s dream job, which is great. Plus now I can write off Extra Innings — it’s a “work expense.”

You realize you have to pass along the “good stuff” stats now…you know, to your old friends

I told Jay last night that I’m going to begin my campaign to get all those overlooked 80s Indians players elected to the Hall of Fame. I will not rest until Andy Allanson ascends to his rightful place in Cooperstown.
*sigh*
His plaque would of course be hanging upside down below Dave Stewart’s

Does no one remember Dave Stewart’s piledriver-like move on Alanson?

I was able to find this. No mention of a pile-driver.

It was one of those situations where Alanson went into the scuffle with his head down and Stewart just grabbed him by the waist and hoisted him upside down before slamming him down. Dave Stewart, who had some kind of black bet, was the wrong person to go up against.

I remember him looking like a badazz… and then having a voice pitched higher than Mike Tyson’s.

Dave Stewart, regardless of look or sound, kind of was a badass. At least for the four-year stretch between the ages of 30-33.

Worst mismatch between intimidating appearance and wussy voice I’ve ever seen and heard.

Cool.
Now I want to know what the football stuff he’s up to is.
