Trivia: That was spectacularly, historically ugly
In 'honor' of the dubious accomplishment of the home nine in today's game, I pose the following trivia question:
Before this year there were three(*) games since 1919 in which a team managed to get zero hits while striking out 10 or more times and committing three or more errors. Name the teams involved and the pitchers that threw the no-hitter.
Here's a bit of a clue since I have to bring the word total up to snuff. Two of the three victimized teams made the playoffs the year of their very bad games.
You have heard of all three of the pitchers who were so terribly abusive to their opponents.
(*) I think it's just three, I can't guarantee that I didn't miss any though. I'm not sure how to get Play Index to use a criteria based on both the offense and the defense. It can probably be done, PI is fantastic and well worth the money if you can afford it. And now I've reached the word count min...
