Rockies GM says pitching Ubaldo Jimenez Saturday 'a tough situation': Indians Chatter
Anyone else pissed off about this? The fact that their GM even acknowledged some doubt about why Jimenez was still in the game after the deal was completed kind of upsets me.

Seriously, what is wrong with me? Why do I read the cle.com comments sections?
They’re making three “points.”
1) ESPN claims that by starting on Saturday, somehow the Tribe lost three starts from Ubaldo. Makes zero sense, of course, but the cle.com folks cite it as fact.
2) As a result, they say the Tribe should call up Pomeranz and start his clock to screw Colorado. They say the rest of the league will salute us for “having balls.”
3) They’re upset that Ubaldo was laughing with teammates in the dugout after getting “lit up” for one inning on Saturday. They say it’s a sign he’s soft, and “a wimp.”
I have to stop this. I have to find a way to cut myself off. This is insane.
At least someone on cle.com knows what a service clock is.
My primitive mind can't grasp these concepts.

It’s pretty easy to stop reading comments.

There are about a dozen people who immediately rush to make negative comments to every story as soon as they’re posted. You think the sports comments are bad over there, never, ever, read the comments posted for a story dealing with minorities or politics. It’s beyond depressing.
Online anonymity bring out the very worst in society.

The blog for our news station had to disable comments after actual threats were made during the health care debate. We had to work with police. It was awesome, if awesome can be described as roughly as fun as hernia surgery with no anesthetic.
This is why a number of sites, including our local paper, have turned to the Facebook commenting system. You silence people that are not members of Facebook, but people are presumably less likely to act like an ass if they have to use their real name.
I like that system, except for blocking out non-FB users.

every time I see you post about your continual adventure into the clecom comments, I think of this.
You are reading my signature.
I don’t think they should actually do it, but #2 gives me a sheepish grin.

How quickly and quietly could we acquire AA pitcher Stuart Pomeranz and sneak him on Akron’s roster?
