Manny was about as enamored with the umpiring as LGT was last night.

If he was asked about the umpiring and said “If I answer, I’ll be massively fined”, would that be a fine-able offense?

OCab is no longer my bête noire.

I would be very interested in reading exactly what Manny Acta said about the umpiring last night. I couldn’t find much of anything in either Hoynes or Socker.

This should be a poll question:
A: Because, as usual, they were writing on Grady’s anti-gravity machine.
B:

B: They at the local pub decrying giving up 2 pitching prospects, then complaining about never acquiring premium talent.

C. They were reviewing Orlando Cabrera’s Hall of Fame candidacy into the wee hours of the morning.

Bastian tweeted Acta’s comments yesterday:

It’s one of my favorite crews. Those guys are very good. They had a rough night last night.

This can only be interpreted as a heaping pile of snark

Those bozos in black were awful last night. I wish there was a system in place to cull the underperforming umps from ML play. With the technology in place today, it would be pretty easy to set up metrics by which they could be impartially evaluated and a schedule could be concocted to force out the guys who simply fail to get it right too much of the time.

Laz Díaz, you’d be one of the first to go on your own sorry abilities.

Or, far better, let Hammy decide who stays and who goes. He seems to be pretty even-handed and certainly isn’t above calling out the guys who aren’t up to snuff.

If you squint just right....you can sometimes see the ghost of Andy Marte...playing dominoes in the dugout.

Hammy is going to be revved up tonight, no question.

I’m hoping for a classic Hammy screed, those guys deserve public rebuke from somebody, even if it’s just a guy in the press box.

I’m a little surprised there isn’t a blog out there calling out umpire blunders. They would’ve had their hands full after Tuesday’s game.

Hammy was LAMBASTING that crew all night, on the air. (With a few follow up snarks the next day)

"Mixed emotions. Rather see him hit PEDroia [with that pitch]. I don’t care if he is in the dugout"
