Excited for full seasons of healthy Kipnis and developed Chiz.
Some Fukudome wouldn’t be bad either.

2 years/$11M for Fukudome?

Can’t say I would be super excited about that. His decline in plate discipline this season is problematic.
But he would probably provide a much better replacement than Carerra, if and when, Grady and/or Brantley were to get injured next season.

Really need that crazy high on base guy to hit in front of Kipnis, Droobs, and Santana. I guess Brantley could be, but I like him much better hitting ninth.

knocking a few out of the park can have that affect on guys. They get a little homer happy and throw discipline out the window. Could have also been the wrist bothering him, too, I suppose.

2/$9M?

he can play a heck of a lot more innings than we ever expected Kearns to.

Possibly, but it’s a question of resource allocation. How much marginal benefit, how probable, and at what cost, which equates to risk?
What we’re talking about here is a Dellucci contract. The point has been made (to me!) that Dellucci’s performance as an Indian was definitely worse than, well, almost everybody’s. But the question more relates to Dellucci’s prior performance, i.e., his projected value/risk profile at the moment we signed him.
Isn’t Fukudome basically a Dellucci-type value, and isn’t this proposed 2/$9M formulation essentially a Dellucci-type deal? And should we keep doing deals like that?
that is some serious bull.

The slider really seems to have improved this year, too. And he’s only 23!

I haven’t seen Kluber pitch up here yet. How has he looked? Is he projected as a starter or bullpen guy now?
Watched this one live. Dad’s a Lifelong White Sox fan. LaPorta played a good 1b, but his at bat music is awful.

The better question is how my dad ended up a chisox fan. Lived his whole life in Western PA. His mom was a huge Tribe fan. She took me to Municipal when I was 3. Also strange my father isn’t a Browns or Steelers fan. Started out a Lions fan before becoming a Broncos fan in the early 60s … Mostly because they were so terrible.
