“Chisenhall is right on Thome’s heels” is on Underwood’s list. It does not mean what you think it does.

We must win 81.

Looks like a pretty good crowd for a late Sept game.

Help me out with placing Duncan’s mug… I can’t get by George Kennedy as Dragline in Cool Hand Luke. But maybe there’s another face to match him with?

Sorry, ML movies are not allowed in my world. I have a strong aversion to them. Maybe it was the fact it was filmed in Milwaukee and not Municipal Stadium, or maybe because it was a cheap (really cheap) knockoff of Slap Shot (Paul Newman kicks everybody’s a$$ who ever starred in ML movies – and I’m a fan of Arnie from L.A. Law!!), anyway… I’m still thinking of another connection…

Now 99.6% chance of finishing in second place.
That includes a 3.1% chance of a tie with Chicago.
In fact, even if we lose the last four games, we still have a 93.8% chance of finishing in second.
Protected draft pick is really out of reach now. We have a better chance of passing the Blue Jays and Dodgers to finish in 13th place than we do of finishing behind the Nats or in a tie with the Reds.
Only thing left to root for, really, is the winning record.
One win in four and no Verlander on the horizon? I think it will certainly be done. Most likely date: TOMORROW.
26k (“official”) at the afternoon game and 30k (“official”) at the evening game… Nice.
Tampa had 27k at the game tonight. Y’know, I could care less if they catch the Sawx. Neither of them (and I’ll thrown in both of their fans) have shown the ’nads to deserve the playoffs.

I really disagree. I think the Rays have shown a lot of talent and moxie in making it this close. They are losing the pennant race the exact way we hoped to lose it.
I’m placing it more on the fans. The team has performed admirably in spite of the lack of cowbells…

Besides, my comment is meant more for the Tablers of the world who have ripped on the attendance in Cleveland. Many said the Thome “bump” would be minuscule- I think the attendance thus final weekend reflects on a “positive” aspect of the Cleveland fan..
(not meant as a jab at Tabs – I’m just making light of the “rips” he has made about attendance in Cleveland.)
