Goodyear, AZ recommendations

I'm making my first trip out to Goodyear this spring (I was a Winterhaven veteran for many years) and was wondering if anyone can offer up any restaurant/golf/nightlife recommendations. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn West in Phoenix, and will be staying for three days/nights. I'll also be heading to Tempe for an away Indians-Brewers game, so if anyone has any suggestions for that area, feel free to pass them on as well. My hopes are not too high headed into this trip (I've driven through Goodyear once, there didn't appear to be a lot of development), just looking for some ideas. Thanks. P.S. - I greatly miss Winterhaven and will do my best not to compare this experience to those trips.

Brewers train in Maryvale, which is west Phoenix. Nothing cooking over there. If you’re in west Phoenix, most of the action is further west by the football and hockey stadiums in the development known as Westgate. The Angels are in Tempe. If you ’re coming to Tempe, go to Four Peaks Brewery. Google it – you want the 8th Street location.

Goodyear and especially its neighbor, Litchfield Park, are new and clean, and without traffic each is about 35 mins west of downtown Phoenix. Mostly chain dining over there because it’s all so new.

Goodyear really is too new to stay there.

We stayed in Scottsdale, which is basically Columbus, Arizona.

I unfortunately missed out on seeing Taliesin when I was there, if you’re into Frank Lloyd Wright all.

My fiancee was a guide at Fallingwater. Proposed to her on the West Terrance. Just sayin’.

Terrace, of course. Dunno who Terrance is.

Thanks, sounds like a good rec. I had my locations mixed up, I’m going to be in Maryvale on Friday for the Brewers game, Tempe on Sunday for the Angels SS game.

Not much in Goodyear. I usually stay in Tempe or Scottsdale. There is an excellent Musical Instrument Museum near the 101 Loop. Well worth a visit if you have several hours to spend.
