Indians closer Chris Perez shelved with strained left oblique | indians.com: News
At the beginning of the weekend, we learned that Grady Sizemore will likely miss Opening Day, and at the end of the it, another key player went down with an injury. Chris Perez strained his left oblique in a bullpen session, and he's out 4-6 weeks. Unlike with Sizemore, though, Perez should not miss Opening Day. Assuming of course, that the regularly-scheduled setback doesn't happen.

This isn't much of a shock. Pestano was one of the best relievers in baseball last year.

There's still some time for the Indians and Cabrera to agree to a long-term deal, but the clock is ticking.
