I know Wood is most famous for being a Cub, but he was one of my favorite non-Tribe pitchers long before we signed him to that 2-year deal. If anyone had a shot at a Clemens type career, I thought it would have been Wood. But unfortunately, injuries tripped him up. He had 16 different DL stints over his 14+ year MLB career. He surprisingly announced retirement today. At least he went out on a good note, striking out Dayan Viciedo swinging.
