Indians third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall suffers fractured forearm on hit-by-pitch | indians.com: News

More details on the Chisenhall injury. He'll undergo surgery at the Cleveland Clinic to repair the broken bone, and will miss 4-6 weeks. The Indians will need to bring someone up for the next couple days (Travis Hafner is schedule to come off the DL Monday), and with the Indians facing two left-handed pitchers, I'd think that Russ Canzler would be a good fit. Or perhaps Jason Donald or Juan Diaz, if the Indians want to give Asdrubal Cabrera a day off.

SCG in with chance of hosting Major League Baseball | thetelegraph.com.au

Apparently MLB and Australia are negotiating to open the 2014 season at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The field would be transformed into a baseball diamond for the three-game series. There are several Australians playing in Major League Baseball, including Grant Balfour (Oakland), Liam Hendriks (Minnesota), and Luke Hughes (Oakland), all originally signed by the Twins. Mitch Nilsson, who is currently playing in Mahoning Valley, was signed by the Indians out of Australia (Brisbane, Queensland).
