Greetings, crimestoppers. Hope you have power and are staying cool. On to the news:

Inspired by the Say Hey Kid

Some people call him the Gangster of Second Base, some people call him the JK Kid, some call him Jason Kipnis, but nobody calls him Maurice. The Columbus Dispatch calls him fan friendly in this article exploring Jason Kipnis' use of social media to interact with fans.

International Harvesting

Tribe signs international free agents from Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Japan. This is the first year under a new set of rules limiting the amount teams can spend on international signings.

Happy Pronk Day, Maybe

A rainout kept Travis Hafner on a rehab assignment with Columbus an extra day (yesterday), where he went 0 for 4 versus Toledo. Has management seen enough? We'll find out later today. Also, the Tribe has the fewest sacrifice bunts in the AL.

All-Star Stats

The JK Kid makes the AL All Star reserve team with the second-best stats at second base as The Hardball Times breaks down the numbers for the first half of the season.
