Columbus 11, Indianapolis 5
Luke Carlin delivered the big blow of the game, a grand slam in the fifth inning. But there were others who had good days at the plate. Russ Canzler went 2-for-5 with a double, as did Chad Huffman, and Cord Phelps went 2-for-3 with two walks. David Huff pitched seven innings, allowing three earned runs on 8 hits. Cody Allen pitched a scoreless ninth.
Akron 4, Bowie 2
Paolo Espino allowed two runs in five innings of work, and the Akron bullpen (Tyler Sturdevant, Loek Van Mil, and Preston Guimet) held Bowie scoreless over the last four innings. Adam Abraham provided much of the offense, driving in three runs on a 2-for-4 day at the plate (including a two-run homer).
Carolina 3, Potomac 2
Mike Rayl threw seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and two walks. Alex Monsalve hit his first Carolina League homer to provide the margin of victory.
Bowling Green 7, Lake County 5
Elvis Araujo was rocked for 6 runs (5 earned) in just 4 innings. Todd Hankins, Zach MacPhee, and Leonardo Castillo each contributed a double.
Mahoning Valley 5, Connecticut 4 (11 Innings)
Tyler Naquin hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th to give the Scrappers the victory. Aaron Siliga went 3-for-5 on the day, driving in 2 runs. Geoffrey Davenport was the starter, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits in 6 innings.
AZL Indians 8, AZL D-Backs 5
The D-Backs committed four errors, which explains why the Indians scored 8 runs on just 7 hits. Anthony Santander was the only Indian with multiple hits (2). Luis Morel went 5 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out 8; after the game, he was promoted to back to Mahoning Valley.
