Aeros push Thunder to brink in Finals | MiLB.com News | The Official Site of Minor League Baseball
The Aeros are on the brink of winning the Eastern League title after beating Trenton 7-5.
Danny Salazar, who has pitched very well lately, struck out 9 in six innings of work, allowing four runs, with three coming on a three-run homer in the sixth inning (three of the five hits he allowed also came in that frame).
Akron jumped out to an early 7-1 lead, scoring twice in the first inning and five times in the third. Jesus Aguilar started the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning, and Ryan Rohlinger would add a two-run homer of his own in the third. Kyle Landis allowed a run in .2 inning of work, but Bryce Stowell, Hector Rondon, and Preston Guilmet would hold Trenton scoreless for the balance of the game.
