Brandon McCarthy Underwent Brain Surgery Last Night

McCarthy was hit by a line drive in yesterday's game, and after a period of observation, underwent the surgery to "evacuate a epidural hemorrhage" and "stabilize the skull fracture," but apparently he's progressed well today, which is very good news. Scary stuff.
