Michael Bourn expects to start Wednesday, despite injuries

Michael Bourn has been slowed by injuries of late, but doesn't expect to miss any more time.

Indians leadoff man and center fielder Michael Bourn missed a couple games in the regular season's final week, after spraining his wrist on a slide into second base, and left Sunday's season finale with a sore calf, but he plans on being in the starting lineup for Wednesday night's American League Wild Card Game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

This per MLB.com Indians beat writer Jordan Bastian:

Bourn hasn't been quite as productive this season as Indians fans hoped for, but he's a strong defensive player and some of the dip in his offensive production has been due to a BABIP more than 50 points his career level, a sign that he's been the victim of some bad luck. His lucked leveled out in near the season's end (well, aside from those injuries) and he's hit 4 triples (8 total extra-base hits) in the last three weeks. His speed at the top of the order is a serious weapon for the Tribe, and his absence would have a domino effect, moving multiple players out of their ideal positions on the field and in the lineup.

Hopefully the wrist and calf are no longer bothering him, and he can serve as the catalyst for a big inning or four.
