- The good news: Brett Myers looked much better today. He did give up another home run in the sixth, but you'll take two runs over six innings from Myers any day.
- The bad news: Jake Peavy was almost unhittable. Michael Bourn got him for a home run on the first pitch of the game, but that was it for the Indians the rest of the way. The Indians only managed five hits off of Peavy; the White Sox starter struck out 11 batters in his seven innings. The Indians got a runner on base in the ninth, but Jason Giambi couldn't deliver.
- The ugly news: Michael Bourn had to leave the game with a cut to his finger. Bourn injured the finger trying to slide into first base, something almost never ends well; to this day I remember Kenny Lofton's ill-fated slide in the 1999 ALDS. I'm sure every coaching staff warns players about the dangers of sliding head-first in first base, but players keep doing it.
