As mentioned a couple days ago, we're going to have two recaps: one shortly after the game so you have a chance to react to what just happened, and the traditional one later on to cover what happened in more detail. So if this recap seems rather short, then don't fret - you'll be getting more verbiage on this game than you know what to do with when you wake up tomorrow.
On to the bullet points!
- It looked like Justin Masterson wasn't going to last past the fifth, or even the fourth, but he finally figured things out and got the Indians through six. That was huge.
- Defense was a big upgrade in the offseason, and that showed tonight. Drew Stubbs made a terrific sliding catch on a Jose Reyes ball that had triple written all over it.
- The 7-8-9 combo of Joe Smith, Vinnie Pestano, and Chris Perez looked like the 2012 group. That's a good thing.
- All that being said, this guy (and the guy imitating the guy) was the highlight of the game:
