The Tribe start their second homestand of nine games with a short two game set with the Phillies, scheduled for Tuesday April 30 and Wednesday May 1, both with 7:05 PM start times. After a day off on Thursday, the Minnesota Twins arrive for a weekend three game visit.

The Phillies trail the Braves by 4.5 and have a negative ten run differential. They are currently riding a three game win streak. None of their stats jump out to me, they seem to be a middling team squad so far, and their record does reflect that as well. The Indians will visit the Phillies for the other two game set on the 14th and 15th.

M Young has transitioned to the NL pretty well this season but Ben Revere has not, and he is nursing an injury. Howard seems to be fully recovered from his injury last year and Utley leads the team in home runs and RBI. With Ruiz' suspension finished, Kratz's poor bat heads back to the bench and Humberto Quintero was DFA'ed. Perpetual prospect Brown is sticking in left but has not flourished like his scouting reports. The guy I wanted to trade for last spring, John Mayberry, is playing well although his average is a tad low. Luckily Masterson will miss this left handed lineup this time around.
EDIT: Edited for the Phillies roster moves on 4/30.

Halladay has had a rough opening two starts to 2013, but has looked more like himself the last three starts. He has been good but not dominant in his career against the Tribe. In twelve starts, he is 6-2 with a 3.52 ERA and 8.4 K/9. This includes two complete games, one of them being a shutout. To date, Lee's year has been eerily similar to his last three, with his K rate slightly down. This will be his first start against his former team since leaving in 2009.

Hey lookie, our favorite reliever is here. Papelbon has solidified the ninth inning for the Phillies. Adams continues to his thing and Bastardo has found a home in the pen. The other leftie is Jeremy Horst and LGFT Chad Durbin also is on the staff.
On the Shelf
- SP John Lannan (strained quadriceps tendon left knee) - 15-day DL, possible early June
- CF Ben Revere (sore quadriceps) - day to day
Lannan was scheduled to be the #5 starter, Jonathon Pettibone has taken his spot for now. If Revere can't go, expect Mayberry to shift into center and either Laynce Nix or old friend Carrera in right.
