Two games! Two games in one! I liked the first game better.
- First game: Indians grind away at Cy Young winner Justin Verlander, force him out of the game after only five innings. Transmogrified Ubaldo meanwhile went six very strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out eight, all against the best offense in the AL.
- Second game: Four relievers let the Tigers back into the game, walking 3 and hitting a batter. A 6-1 lead evaporates in the seventh, the Indians score an insurance run in the eighth, which turned out to be greatly needed in the ninth. MIguel Cabrera comes up in the ninth with the tying run on third, hearts stop, Mike Aviles throws, Nick Swisher catches it, Indians somehow hang on.
- So the Indians did the hard things well, the easy things poorly, but won the game. It would have really stunk had the bullpen blown this one, and it tried hard to, but ultimately it didn't.
- I was tired before the ninth inning, now I need to jump on the 'ol NordicTrack to work out the nerves. Or maybe do some jumping jacks.
