Cleveland @Indians season ticket holder Greg Niel caught FOUR foul balls today. Odds: 1:1,000,000,000,000...Or one IN A TRILLION.
— Numbers Never Lie (@ESPN_Numbers) July 15, 2013 - Brandon Workman of the Red Sox, who had a 1.472 WHIP in AAA this year, took a no-hitter into the 7th in Oakland. He then gave up a single and a home run in the 7th. It was his first MLB start.
- Justin Verlander of the Tigers, who you may have heard of, took a no-hitter into the 7th against Texas. He then gave up a double to Mitch Moreland in the 7th, before leaving with a quad injury. Unfortunately, the Detroit bullpen didn't blow it.
- CC Lee made his MLB debut yesterday for the Indians and pitched 1.1 scoreless, hitless innings.
- LGFT Chris Archer pitched a complete game shutout against Houston. 112 pitches, so no Maddux. He lowered his ERA to 2.96.
