Cleveland Indians podcast: Putting the Detroit series behind us

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Sorting through the wreckage of the Detroit series to see what can be salvaged for the rest of the season.

This week's guest on Let's Talk Tribe is Adam Van Arsdale, professor of anthropology at Wellesley College known to Let's Go Tribe readers as APV.

Topics include the Indians' last couple weeks, sorting through the wreckage of the sweep by Detroit to determine where the season stands as mid-August nears. Other topics include Ryan Raburn's recent contract extension, Mark Reynolds being designated for assignment, Corey Kluber's injury, Danny Salazar's strong second outing and whether or not he had any business pitching that 8th inning.

I'm just back from Tanzania, where I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, which Adam did back in 2004. From around the 31:00 mark to 37:00, we're discussing our experiences on the mountain. Feel free to jump ahead if you're not interested in that bit of non-baseball. The audio goes south around 38:00, but those last two minutes were mostly just me wrapping things up anyway, so it's not a major loss.
