This week I spoke with our very own Dean Klubnik (his latest is the preview piece for this weekend's series in Chicago), better known around these parts as "talonk." We discussed the Indians' playoff chances, as they sit just 1.5 games back of the second Wild Card, even after dropping the last two against Kansas City. We talked about the lineup's inability to score runs, and which players inspire the most and least confidence these days. Other topics include the future of Carlos Santana and Yan Gomes, which starting pitcher belongs on the mound if the Indians do make the Wild Card game (is it Ubaldo Jimenez?!), which teams we would or wouldn't prefer to see the Tribe play in that scenario, and Michael Bourn's comments on attendance.
