Carlos Carrasco takes the mound for the Tribe today and needs to pitch well or this will likely be his final start in the rotation for some time. He is well rested, as he had his start skipped during the series in Detroit. In Carrasco's 2 starts this season he has lasted 10.1 innings and has an unsightly 7.84 ERA. His FIP is a more encouraging 4.05 and he does have 12 strikeouts in those 10.1 innings, plus his BABIP to this point has been rather high (.400). Maybe things will turn around for Carrasco and there's hope for him yet. Some luck today would be a nice start. Brandon Morrow opposes him for the Jays and currently has a 5.52 ERA over 3 starts.
Lonnie "Destroyer of the Baseball" Chisenhall (his official title) gets the start at third base today and Carlos Santana is back behind the plate. It feels just like old times. Yan Gomes has been given the day off and it couldn't have come at a better time. The Brazilian has been struggling of late, defensively and offensively, and could do with a rest.
