Cleveland Indians vs. Minnesota Twins
Friday, Apri 4, 2014 (3:05 ET)
TV: STO (CLE), FSNO (MIN) - It is also the free game of the day on MLB.TV!
Radio: WTAM (CLE), TIBN (MIN)
Starting pitchers: Danny Salazar (RH) vs. Mike Pelfrey (RH)
I'm excited to see what Salazar has in store for us today. The last time he took the mound at Progressive Field, he started off with two of the most exciting innings I've ever watched (then the bottom fell out). With Corey Kluber andZach McAllister both struggling in their first start of the year, it sure would be nice to see Salazar look good. Don't expect him to go any deeper than 6 innings into the game.
Starting Lineups:
Indians | Twins |
Nyjer Morgan (CF) | Brian Dozier (2B) |
Nick Swisher (1B) | Joe Mauer (1B) |
Jason Kipnis (2B) | Josh Willingham (LF) |
Carlos Santana (3B) | Chris Colabello (DH) |
Michael Brantley (LF) | Trevor Plouffe (3B) |
Asdrubal Cabrera (SS) | Oswaldo Arcia (RF) |
David Murphy (RF) | Kurt Suzuki (C) |
Yan Gomes (C) | Aaron Hicks (CF) |
Lonnie Chisenhall (DH) | Pedro Florimon (SS) |
I was among those unhappy to see Lonnie get just 2 plate appearances in Oakland (while everyone else got at least 5), so I'm happy to see him in the lineup today. I won't be completely at ease about his status until I see what happens when Bourn and Giambi are both off the DL, but today is a step in the right direction. My hope is that's today's lineup is the standard against right-handed pitchers.
