Cleveland Indians at Baltimore Orioles - May 24, 2014 | CLE Recap

Yesterday's win was one of the most complete wins of the season. Of late the offense seems to have got into gear, and yesterday this outburst was done without Asdrubal Cabrera and Nick Swisher. If the defense is going to continue to be awful, the Indians are going to need to outhit the inevitable error.

In midst of best stretch, Chisenhall cleaning up | News

Prior to this year, Lonnie Chisenhall looked like he was trying to pull everything. He was striking out every five plate appearances, and he absolutely useless against left-handed pitching. But then something clicked, and Lonnie now looks like a completely different hitter. He's now making contact at a much better wait, is using all fields instead, and is even hitting southpaws. Now he's hitting an astonishing .382/.443/.564 (187 OPS+) in 124 Plate Appearances, and an OPS that, if he would be qualified, would be second only to Miguel Cabrera in the American League would be leading the AL in OPS.

Now some of these lofty numbers are going to go down; his BABIP is an insane .465, something that just isn't sustainable no matter how hard he's hitting the baseball. But the better pitch recognition is real, and that's led to an amazing 32.2% line drive rate. He's going to be playing every day now, whether that be at third base or as the DH.

Columbus downed by Durham 5-2 | Columbus Clippers News

Jason Kipnis appeared in the second game of what hopefully is a two-game rehab assignment. If he feels good today, he'll be activated tomorrow in time for the first game in the series in Chicago. That's good timing, as Asdrubal Cabrera has been hobbled with a couple leg ailments, and Mike Aviles can slide over to shortstop if needed.

Latest 25-man/40-man Roster

The rotation looks a lot different than the one on Opening Day. The Indians have now used 8 starting pitchers, and to add any more starters they'll have to add someone to the 40-man roster (assuming Danny Salazar is still working on his off-speed pitches in Columbus).

Jason Kipnis, if he has no problems today, will replace Justin Sellers on the 25-man roster.
