Series Preview
The Indians face the Rays for the first time since 2013's Wild Card Game, and we can only hope things turn out a bit better than they did that time. Corey Kluber takes the mound against Tampa's Jake Odorizzi. Kluber is coming off a tremendous performance against the White Sox wherein he struck out 13 and gave up just one run over 8 innings but then had to watch from the bench as John Axford blew the game in the 9th. He is arguably the Tribe's ace this year, and he'll have a good opportunity to continue his dominance as he faces a middling Rays lineup.
Odorizzi, on the other had, hasn't lasted longer than six innings in any start this season, which probably means we can expect him to go nine innings and strike out about ten guys. Tribe cleanup hitter Carlos Santana will do his best to make Odorizzi look like a star, but closet superhero Mike Aviles is the secret weapon tucked away in the nine hole. Asdrubal Cabrera looks to continue his hot streak and try to turn his season around.
Let's go, Tribe!
