Doby celebration, giveaway highlight promo schedule | indians.com
The big news from the article was that the Indians have set July 25th as when they'll reveal the Larry Dody statue at Progressive Field. Doby's statue will be the third at Progressive Field, joining likenesses of Bob Feller (1994) and Jim Thome (2014). Fans attending that game will get a replica of the statue, and I'm assuming there will be a pre-game ceremony to celebrate the man who not only had a Hall of Fame career, but integrated the American League and dealt with all the difficulties that came with that distinction.
We'll have more on the promotional schedule tomorrow.
Players, staff get up close with fans at Tribe Fest
Yesterday was the first day of Tribe Fest, a two-day event held at Progressive Field. Fans get to meet players, coaches, and other people in the organization, take clubhouse tours, and do other fun stuff. There will be another session today, so those of you in the Cleveland area still have a chance to attend.

Corey Kluber's Cy Young trip to New York includes catcher Yan Gomes | cleveland.com
Yesterday at the annual BBWAA dinner Corey Kluber was officially awarded the AL Cy Young. John Smoltz, who earlier this month elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, introduced Kluber. It is a bit surreal to see a pitcher that a couple years ago was known only to Indians fans be introduced for an award by John Smoltz and appear on the same stage as Sandy Koufax (who you'll see in the clip below).
From the cleveland.com article:
Kluber was asked if he'd picked a place in his home to display his Cy Young award.
He said he hadn't really thought about it.
"I'm sure I'll pick a good spot for it at the house somewhere," said Kluber, "but I haven't been sitting around planning things out in my mind."
