Baseball America has chosen their 2016 Major League Executive Of The Year and they have chosen very wisely. In choosing Chris Antonetti and proclaiming that the Indians success was not luck but "the product of a steady hand at the controls of an organization built to withstand such pressures, I'd say they pretty much nailed it.
Even though the 2016 run cost the Indians Clint Frazier and Justus Sheffield, with Antonetti and his group of strong assistants in charge, more young talent will continue to emerge. Speaking of which, Fangraphs released this list of their top Indians prospects yesterday. How convenient!

Yoenis Cespedes will play the 2017 season in a familiar location, as he signed a 110 million dollar free agent contract with the New York Mets. It is the largest free agent deal in Mets history.. Here's Jeff Sullivan on the deal.
Dave Cameron says the Mets should follow this up by dumping Jay Bruce and possibly Michael Conforto as well. Any thoughts on what it would take to get Conforto to Cleveland?

• the Cardinals seem to be interested in replacing Jhonny Peralta with Justin Turner.
• The Brewers added in-demand "International" free agent Eric Thames to replace the DFA'd Chris Carter.
• The Cubs landed LGT FA Target Jon Jay. Because they tooooootally needed more talent.
• The Pirates signed Lisalverto Bonilla and DFA'd Jeff Locke (not the punter) to make room. I mention this because Locke could be an interesting pickup, perhaps as a reliever.
