The Cleveland Indians roll into this series in Minnesota on a three game winning streak after sweeping the TIgers in Detroit for the first time in eight years. There are a few reasons to believe that the momentum will continue, and the biggest reason is that the Twins are not good at baseball this year. So far they've labored to a 5-14 start and lost a heartbreaker in extra innings against the Nationals yesterday.
Tonight, Danny Salazar pitches for the Tribe. By some statistics he's been the most effective pitcher for the Indians so far this season. He's fourth in the American League in strikeouts and adjusted ERA+, and according to Baseball Reference he leads the entire team in WAR, with .9. He'll duel Tommy Milone, who hopes to avoid surrendering four runs in a fourth consecutive start.
Keep an eye on Mike Napoli tonight. Since his pinch-hit home run on the 21st against Seattle, he is 2-13 at the plate with 8 strikeouts, including a golden sombrero on the 22nd. Napoli provided a much needed jolt of power to the lineup over much of the first couple of weeks, so a quick rebound would be an encouraging sign.
