If you didn't catch last night's game, perhaps you may have thought that Jose Quintana dominated the Indians yet again, and that the game was over before the third inning. Nope. The Indians had several opportunities to take the lead the early, and more importantly, to knock Quintana out and get to the White Sox bullpen. But no, those opportunities fizzled out, Quintana ended up going six innings, and Austin Adams ended up pitching.

Indians try to manage Francisco Lindor fatigue | MLB.com
This is Lindor's first full major-league season, and he's learning that that last month of the season is a doozy.
Lots of things to cover here, so I'll put them in a list:
- The five everyday players (Lindor/Kipnis/Napoli/Santana/Ramirez) have all played in at least 143 of the Indians' 153 games.
- Carlos Santana has embraced his role with the team, including sharing time at first base with Mike Napoli.
- The season ticket base has gone up considerably.

The Royals helped the Indians out yesterday, coming from behind to shock the Tigers, scoring five runs in the ninth inning. That means that the Indians can clinch today with a win and another Detroit loss. They can also clinch at least a tie for the division with a win or a Detroit loss.

A look at the other division/wild card races around baseball. The wild card races in both leagues are still very much up for grabs, though my five-team tie dream has taken a hit thanks to Houston losing three straight to the Angels at home and Seattle losing last night to the Twins(!).

One of the more amusing bits is what David Ortiz said to Phil Coke the day after he hit a grand slam off of Joaquin Benoit in the 2013 ALCS. Coke was read to come into the game, but wasn't called upon.
