Acta: Brantley will continue to lead off.

Ocker, surprisingly, is out in front on something. Cabrera, who led off before suffering a fractured forearm, will hit second, behind Michael Brantley; Choo (sprained thumb) will return to the third spot; and Carlos Santana, who has been batting third, will move down a notch and hit cleanup. There's some other stuff about being unsure what to do with Donald/Nix, too.

Trading for Westbrook is going to be expensive

I don't know if this has been talked about before on here, but this is the first I've heard of it so I thought I'd post it. Ken Rosenthal reports that Jake Westbrook will receive a $2 million bonus if traded, and his salary will increase by a pro-rated portion of $1 million. So, if he's traded on July 31, that will add approximately $2.3 million to his $3.6 million salary for the remainder of the season. This could certainly make it more difficult for the Indians to trade him and it may be part of the reason we haven't heard many rumors about him lately. Of course, the Indians could throw in some cash to pay for those bonuses and make it easier to trade him if they really want to get something done.

Alex White, RHP, Indians (Double-A Akron): 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 7 K. '09 first-round pick has a 1.50 ERA in 11 Double-A starts while limiting Eastern League to .194 batting average; command has been fantastic and he could be in the big leagues as early as next year.

Goldstein gave nods to two other Tribe prospects as well in his rundown (Weglarz and Kipnis).

Choo, Cabrera likely to return on Friday

Holy crap, are we even allowed to get this much good news in one weekend? We're not, right? Something bad is going to happen instead, right?

CC Sabathia takes another shot at Cleveland Indians organization at Yankees Oldtimers' Game I saw a clip of the Yankees Oldtimers' game today, with Kim Jones interviewing CC Sabathia in the dugout. She wanted to know how he felt about George Steinbrenner even though he was relatively new to the team. Among other things said while gushing over Yankees elitism, I remember this quote from CC (I hope this is exact): "This is a top-flight organization. I've never been part of something like this." The way he said this, it was clear he was contrasting with previous organizations he was in, especially the way he paused and reflected for a brief second before continuing with the second sentence. I got a strong impression he was trying to say the previous organizations he was in were bush-league compared to the Yankees. I guess providing superstar players with unlimited amounts of cash separates a real top-flight organization from the bunglers...

Can't find source yet. Hope the interview will be published somewhere, but I saw it with my own eyes.
