Looking for used game ticket from 8/20/2002
Yes, I am looking for a game ticket from 2002! I am trying to complete a collection of game tickets from the A's 20 game win streak. I currently have 11 of the 20 games. I would like to have a season ticket, but would also take a box office variety. Thank you!
Looking for a ticket from the A's 2002 win streak
Hello Tribe! I am a member of Athletics Nation, and I'm looking to complete a collection of game tickets from the A's 2002 win streak. I plan to have the tickets framed as a gift to my father. I have 11 of the 20 games, and need just one more from the 4 game series played in Cleveland. The game I need is 8/20/2002. I would like to have a season ticket, but would also take a box office variety. Thank you!
Trade for Carlos Beltran?
I just had a brilliant idea! Let's trade for Carlos Beltran. Can't imagine he'd require a ton to get and he's hitting great in a contract year. Whaddya think? ***ADDITION*** I am born and raised in Millersburg OH and listened to the Indians my whole life. The Kershaw screen name is because I got into fantasy baseball and joined minorleagueball.com around the time Kershaw started being hyped as a prospect. Didn't know letsgotribe existed at the time. So TRUE INDIAN FAN but just happen to like Kershaw too....
Spring Training Trip
Hey all, I shoulda posted this ages ago but just a heads up in case anyone is interested... I'll be in the Phoenix area from today until Sunday bouncing around to several ST games. Should be cool to see some of the final ST games as the roster gets closer and closer to opening day roster. If anyone is interested in meeting up at any point, shoot me an e-mail (listed in my profile). Hope to catch a Tribe game with some of you!
LGT Roto League?
The St. Paul Zuvellas tasted playoffs last year in the initial LGT Roto League and are eager to take the next step. Will there be one?
Hey Hoynsie: Javier Vazquez?
Hey, Hoynsie: Javier Vazquez had a bad year with the Yankees, which means his price on the open market should be much less that the $11.5 million he made last season. He seems to pitch well in situations (like Cleveland) where team expectations are low. Perhaps the Indians could offer him $8-9 million for a one-year deal with an option for a second. He's a strikeout pitcher (which would be helpful with the Indians' weak infield defense) and he has been an innings eater in the past. It would give the Tribe time to develop Alex White, Drew Pomeranz and others. -- Joe Eversole, Pelham, Ala.Hey, Joe: I like the idea, but I doubt that Vazquez would give the Indians a discount. He went 10-10 with the Yankees and is 25-20 over the last two years. If anything, he's the kind of established pitcher that the Indians, given their competitive situation, would have to overpay.
From the latest mailbag. While Hoynes is a little dismissive, the idea doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me. If the Indians want a veteran starter, and historically they've been into that, Vazquez seems like a guy who could be a good chip at the deadline.
In Which Mike Sweeney Fights Snitches
Sweeney called #Mariners' meeting: "We will support and fight and take a bullet for Ken Griffey Jr. if we have to. He's our teammate..." "Nothing is going to divide this clubhouse, especially a makeshift article made up of lies..." "We don't think there are two players who said that (about Griffey sleeping). I challenged everyone in that room - if they said that to ... "...stand up and fight me. No one stood up.
Ken Rosenthal via Twitter. That's the funniest thing I've read in a while.
