Boston area LGTer's?

Can't believe I didn't think to try this before, but as I'm relatively new here, I wonder if you all haven't already found each other.

If not, then perhaps this can be a roll call for any Indians fans in and around Boston (or just willing to drive here from further out), with the possibility of getting together for games and beverages.

I'm really just throwing this out there, as I don't have the capability to host (no cable TV) and I certainly don't have the means to get playoff tickets in the event that we meet up with the Red Sox, but perhaps if there are enough of us, we could take over a sports bar for a night.

Anyone interested?

Also, I'm going out on a limb here... but Avogadro, if you are who I think you are, you naturally have a standing invitation. If you happen to find yourself making the trek all the way out from Cleveland, that is.

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
I live in Boston - I actually went to two out of the three Tribe games in Fenway in May.

I'd meet out for a game sometime.  The Browns Backers out here meet at Conor Larkins (just south of the Fens). When I went to watch the tragedy that was the Steelers game, it was completely full of Browns fans.

Anyway, they mentioned about meeting there for Tribe games as well as they do have Extra Innings.

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Thanks for the heads up. Do you know if they are in fact meeting there for Indians games?

And keep checking in. If there's no way to contact each other through LGT w/o posting our personal info (yeah, I've responded to all these posts in reverse order), then I'll set up a new email account, and anybody who wants to (and who's willing to trust me) can send contact info there.

Okay, very good.

Hmm, do you know the answers to the questions the Cooler and I posted below?

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Is there anyway to send a private message to members to give them my email address (to set something out) without posting it on the page.

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Yeah, I'm trying to figure that one out as well. I unfortunately have not figured out all the ins and outs of this site yet.

For that matter, is there a way to bump this diary up to the front? Probably something I'd only want to do once, as no one wants to see the same diary popping up again and again, but it hasn't been 24 hours and we're already bumped from the front page. I'm sure there have to be more of us in the area.

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Email:  One of the options on your profile page is to display your email address when somebody clicks on your username.  You can access your profile by clicking on "[Username]'s Page" (e.g. "ManchildinBeantown's Page") in the upper right-hand corner.  It's not exactly private, but it's more private than posting it in a thread.

Bumping:  I suppose everyone wants their diary bumped.  An alternate solution is to change the number of diaries displayed, which can be done at the bottom of the diary list on the right.  I have mine set to 20, which means this thread is still displayed (it's #11 right now.)  If everyone were to do something like this, there's be less demand for bumping.

HTH.

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Yeah, that's the thing - I certainly don't want to bump this, as I don't presume to have anything more important to say than anyone else, and it would be lousy precedent. Just wanted to reach those who didn't see this in the 20 hours that it was up front.

Didn't know about the email feature - I may use it if I open up a new email, just for communicating with LGT.

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Haha, sorry it got bumped off of my list. ;)

So, to answer your questions, no, I don't know the answers to your questions.  I have posted one of my alternate emails in my profile, however.

If you want to meet up for the playoffs, that would be fine.  I have a big screen at home, but there are a ton of bars that are accommodating, too.

Fair warning though, I'm a Steelers fan.  (I'm from Youngstown, which should really just be annexed into PA...)

Re: Boston area LGTer's?
Hey, I'm down for a get-together for a game sometime. Be pretty cool if it were vs the Sox, but whatever.

I live in Arlington near Alewife, BTW.
