Harold Cooper was the most important figure in Columbus baseball over the last 50 years and one of the giants of all minor league baseball as a past president of the International League. There is a statue of Cooper outside of Huntington Park and the former stadium was renamed in Cooper's honor.
He pretty much single-handedly saved baseball in Columbus. Twice.
A Meet the Team party is scheduled at the Easton GameWorks from 7 to 10 pm on Wednesday, April 8. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Sadly, there are no dominoes tables at GameWorks, so Andy Marte will not be able to show off his amazing prowess.
