Rain halts Bisons, Concrete halts Snyder
The latest Bisons mishap came hours before the start of Monday night’s scheduled game against the Durham Bulls.|
Herd center fielder Brad Snyder was scratched from the lineup after he smacked his head on a concrete overhang in the clubhouse tunnel, becoming bloodied but not seriously injured.
Snyder was low-bridged when he sprinted full speed through the tunnel leading to the clubhouse.
...
"That’s frustrating," manager Torey Lovullo said.

Junior Mint: The enduring popularity (and ubiquity) of the 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. card.
Nice piece from Darren Rovell on Slate. I'm sure many of you were collecting around this time as well, so this was both interesting and nostalgically fun to read for me.

Ozzie Guillen and Eloquence
Classic Ozzie, running the gamut of blame.
It's fun to guess what expletives he actually said. I think I can nail it down with a 95% confidence level.

Westbrook to DL, BenFran called up
The Indians, struggling along with offensive problems this season, ran into more trouble today when starting righthander Jake Westbrook was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left intercostal strain.
To replace Westbrook on the roster, the Indians recalled outfielder Ben Francisco, one of the last players cut at the end of spring training.

3:00 p.m. Press Conference
http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2008/04/cleveland_indians_schedule_pre.html
The Cleveland Indians have scheduled a 3 p.m. press conference at Progressive Field. They did not reveal the reason for the press conference, but said GM Mark Shapiro, Chris Antonetti, assistant general manager, and a player from the 25-man roster would participate.
Let the speculation begin!
My fanpost apparently needs to be longer.
My girlfriend says my fanpost is long enough. Why must SB disagree/

Bill James and Freakonomics
The authors of Freakonomics requested questions from their readers to submit to Bill James. Surprisingly (or maybe not so), he has a lot of time on his hands and answered a bunch of them.
