Paul Byrd clears waivers
So, the back end of the Yankees' rotation working this weekend against the Angels in Anaheim will be Ian Kennedy tomorrow night and Dan Giese on Saturday - unless the Yankees have interest in Cleveland's Paul Byrd, who has cleared waivers.

PTBNL revealed?
According to http://39ontheline.blogspot.com/, a blogger who claims to have both Taylor Green and Michael Brantley as "clients" (and whom MLBTR identified as Joshua Kusnick of Double Diamond Sports Management) writes the following:
"It is just the way the business is. Things are influx until they are final, everything is static, everything can fall apart at any time. As things stand right now it is my understanding that the Indians have two deadlines in which to select one of two players (Michael Brantley and Taylor Green)."
If this is in fact correct then the PTBNL are named above.
As a side note, after reading the Sabathia related blogs on his site, the young Kusnick seems, uhm, very spirited.

Dallas McPherson
When Casey Blake is traded in the mini fire sale about to occur, can we please call the Marlins and inquire on what we need to get Dallas McPherson. The guy is rotting AAA batting over 300 and hitting 29 HRs. Since Marte apparently will never approach 100 AB this season, can we start him the net 70-75 games and see if he can produce at the ML level. Shhh...I know Hodges is on his way, but when was the last time the Tribe rushed someone up.

Adam Miller shut down
From Castrovince Blog
Miller shut downTop prospect Adam Miller's Minor League season is conceivably over. According to head athletic trainer Lonnie Soloff, Miller will be shut down from throwing for eight weeks after having surgery performed on the middle finger of his right throwing hand Tuesday. After eight weeks, Miller will begin a return-to-throw program in either Winter Haven or Goodyear, so the odds of him coming back in time to rejoin the Bisons is slim.

Tell me what you need
I am a CLEVELAND INDIANS fan and posted the following on LETSGOTRIBE.COM ...scan it a read the comments below.
Ok, I'll just throw out this trade proposal.
It's been mentioned before that the Tribe was at least considering Erik Bedard. My question is why not include Brian Roberts in the deal too. Too expense? Well not really, just listen to what we have to offer.
The Orioles have traded away their starting shortstop, and we may have one to offer that may have his highest trade value in years. His name is Jhonny Peralta. He is owed about $12 million between 2008-11. The bonus is AsCab can get his natural position back
Roberts is owed $14 million and change in the next two years. He is a career .281 batting average, and while he has limited power he stole 50 bases and scored 103 runs last year. His defense is also solid. In 2007 he had 7 errors and a .991 fielding percentage.
Bedard is arby eligible for the next 2 years and earned less than $4 million last year.
What would it take to get him? How about a package that included a shortstop, Peralta,a second baseman, Barfield (to replace Roberts), a ML ready OF, Ben Francisco, a prospect 1B/ OF Jordan Brown, and ML ready SP, Aaron Laffey or Adam Miller.
Still interested? I am.
Could it happen? Maybe. Will it? Probably not. Could it improve both teams? I think so.
I'd at least make a call.
MY QUESTION TO ORIOLES FANS...COUNTER MY OFFER. TELL ME WHAT YOUR TEAM NEEDS.

Why not Bedard AND Roberts?

Still too expense you say. Well how about checking to see if St. Louis might want to offload an Anthony Reyes for a Cliff Lee (as rumored a few weeks ago). Lee is owed $3.75M in 08, $5.75M in 09 and has a $8M option 10. Now do we have the money? Still interested? I am.
Could it happen? Maybe. Will it? Probably not. Could it improve both teams? I think so.
